SF’s Transgender District’s “Riot Block Party” (Aug. 29)
On Sunday, August 29 from noon to 4 pm, the Transgender District will be hosting a neighborhood block party, “The Riot Party,” featuring food, live music, performances, and more. The event will also honor community members who have advanced trans rights in San Francisco and beyond.
In observance of one of the nation’s first documented uprisings of Transgender and Gender Non-conforming people against transphobic violence (The 1966 Compton’s Cafeteria Riots), The Transgender District’s Riot Block Party brings together folks from San Francisco, the Bay Area, and beyond to celebrate our community.
This event is free-to-the-public, and will center Trans and/or Queer Black, Brown, Indigenous, People of Color DJ’s, exotic dancers, go-go dancers, drag queens, performers, artists, and socialites.
