Sierra-at-Tahoe is opening for just one weekend this season to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

To pay homage to our history while setting our sights on the future, we are opening the resort for one weekend only on April 9-10 2022, to reflect and reconnect — together with your fellow Sierra family members. Share in the experience of what makes this place so truly unique and special with live music all weekend, competitions, giveaways and so much more.

Subaru WinterFest will kick off the weekend celebration on Saturday followed by Vans METHODOLOGY on Sunday to round out the fun. After a year of unforeseen events and unknown obstacles, we are ecstatic to welcome passholders, ticket holders, and all those who love Sierra back to the place #WherePlayReignsFree.

We are setting our sights on a full opening next winter, as skiing and riding will be very limited throughout the weekend, but smiles, high fives and good vibes will be in abundance and that is truly what this anniversary event is all about.

With a little luck, sunshine will be on tap with spring conditions plus a chance to see the mountain for the first time, so grab your favorite Sierra swag, carpool with your crew, and come catch some special celebratory turns with us as we toast to 75 Years of Sierra.

Tickets will be available on each day of the event, parking permitting. Parking is based on mountain capacity and is on a first-come-first-served basis and having a valid lift product does not guarantee entrance or a parking spot. Please arrive early and carpool with your fellow Sierra Fam as we anticipate reaching capacity. 2021/22 and 2022/23 Season Passes (coming soon) will be valid for the duration of the event weekend for use.

Subaru WinterFest

Sierra-at-Tahoe is thrilled to welcome back Subaru WinterFest, a one-of-a-kind music and mountain lifestyle tour that invites friends, family, skiers, snowboarders, music + fans alike to bask in their love of adventure and all things winter!

WinterFest will kick off our 75 Years of Sierra celebration with music from local favorites, Boot Juice, followed by Pixie and the Partygrass boys taking the main stage. Stop by the vendor village to check out the latest gear, delicious treats, warm beverages and tasty surprises from friends like Alpine Start, and Kate’s Real Food. Klean Kanteen®, Terracycle® and Leave No Trace™ will be on-site to support and inspire sustainability practices. Subaru and the National Ski Patrol will share how you can get involved and support the Avalanche Rescue Dogs. Subaru owners will enjoy VIP treatment and special gifts while supplies last.

METHODOLOGY is a combination of speed and style. This all snowboarding competition features a banked slalom concept and adds a new element with a special feature before the finish line, allowing riders to shave time off of their run with their best Method Air. METHODOLOGY is an event for everyone, with both men’s and women’s classes in the following age groups: GROMS (13 and Under), TEENS (14-18), OPEN CLASS (open to all ages), and LADIES AND GENTLEMEN (35 and older).

Spots will fill up fast, register here to secure your spot before it sells out and purchase your ticket if you do not have a current season pass. Registration/bib pick up will be available the day before or onsite from 8-9AM on Solstice Plaza, but online registration is encouraged to secure your spot. Registration is $25 per rider and 100% of the proceeds go to the Sierra-at-Tahoe Education Foundation to assist Sierra employees impacted by the fire.

The competition kicks off at 10AM with Awards at 4PM.

IMPORTANT: All riders must sign a waiver and have their own Sierra lift ticket or a valid season pass. Helmets are required for all competitors for this all snowboarding event.
