“Square Pie Guys” Coming to Old Oakland in 2021

Although we haven’t seen anything on social media yet, according to a press email sent out this week, popular Detroit-style pizza joint, Square Pie Guys is crossing the bridge and making its way to Old Oakland, opening in early 2021.

We’re excited to announce our second location, slated to open in late February/early March at 499 9th Street. We will be partnering with local organizations that focus on job training and development for those who traditionally don’t have equal access to work opportunities.

The menu at our new Oakland location will be familiar to fans of our brand, with classics such as the 6×8, the Big Von, and our signature gluten free fried chicken wings coming over the bridge with us. Our virtual brand Hetchy’s Hot will also make the trek. Even more exciting, this location will showcase a brand new to-go cocktail program, highlighting our approach of serving deliciousness with a seasonal twist.

We are excited for what’s next with Square Pie Guys. As second time restaurant owners it’s exhilarating and daunting to sign a lease and prepare to bring our food to a new audience. We cannot wait to engage with a whole new group of team members and empower them to be food leaders.

With Covid-19 we are learning to embrace the new normal and pivot quickly and with intentionality. With that in mind our soft launch will look a little different than normal, but we can’t wait to fill you in on our plans and invite you to try check out our East Bay offerings.
