A day of beer & bike mayhem & vaudeville in Golden Gate Park

Tour de Fat 2013 will stop in San Franicsco on Saturday, September 21, 2013 with live music, strange bicycle mayhem, lots of beer, and lots of recycling and composting.

The Bike Parade begins at 11 am with a bike cruise through Golden Gate Park with fabulous bike costumes, followed by a big festival with beer ($5 for 16 oz.), local food carts, eccentric entertainment and live music, unusual bike contests, the one-of-a-kind Whiskey Drome, and more.

– 11 am: Bike Parade ($5 to participate, free to watch) – starts and ends in Lindley Meadow
– Noon to  5pm: Entertainment
– Food prices range $8-$12 – Tante’s, Juicey Lucy, and Rosamunde Sausage Grill are scheduled
– Beers are $5 for a 16oz pour

2013 Entertainment: 

  • Beats Antique
    This Oakland-based band shows how a marching band groove crashes into bluesy folk chords only to be accompanied by electronic beats and Middle Eastern melodies.
  • The Moth – True Stories Told Live
    A rare, midday, broad-daylight Moth show. The show will feature four stories told by prizewinning Moth storytellers brought from headquarters and two local stories told by…maybe you?
  • Scot Nery
    Comedian. Juggler. Contortionist. Need we say more?
  • Yo-Yo People
    This husband and wife duo bring back the nostalgic toy, reminding the crowd of their old favorite yo-yo tricks and amazing everyone with new and bizarre tricks.
  • Honeymoon Cabaret
    Witness a vaudevillian feast of comic proportions.
  • Slow Bike Race
    Exactly what it sounds like – who can ride their bikes the slowest without falling over?
  • Car for Bike Swap
    Seriously, one lucky car owner will exchange their car for a fully-rigged commuter bike worth $2,250.
  • Stunt Pepper Dance Contest
    A fun crowd dance-off
