New Weekend & Late-Night Ferry Service Between SF & Tiburon
On Monday, January 31, 2022, Golden Gate Ferry will add midday and weekend trips to existing round trip commute service between Tiburon and San Francisco. New late-night ferry service between Tiburon and San Francisco will also be provided by Tideline Marine Group and is expected to start in mid-February 2022.
The new weekday, weekend, and late-night service is the result of a collaborative public-private partnership between Golden Gate Ferry, Tideline, the Town of Tiburon, Blue & Gold Fleet, and A & C Ventures, Inc., the company that owns the Tiburon Ferry Landing, to address the needs of Tiburon’s residents and businesses.
“We are grateful to Golden Gate Ferry, Tideline, and A & C Ventures for their partnership,” said Tiburon Councilmember Holli Thier. “Together, we are expanding travel options so that residents and visitors alike can enjoy all that Tiburon has to offer.”
The new Golden Gate Ferry schedules will replace service currently provided by Blue & Gold Fleet that ends on January 30, 2022. Golden Gate Ferry service will ensure uninterrupted, reliable access between Tiburon and San Francisco with roundtrips throughout the day on both weekdays and weekends.
“Blue & Gold Fleet has enjoyed providing ferry service to the Town of Tiburon since 1997,” said Patrick Murphy, President of Blue & Gold Fleet. “Unfortunately, due to the challenging economic climate pre-COVID, coupled with the mandatory COVID-19 six-month shutdown and the expected slow recovery, we have made the difficult business decision to transfer the service to the Golden Gate Ferry. Blue & Gold Fleet is pleased that Golden Gate Ferry has agreed to provide a seamless transition for the Town, its residents, and tourists.”
Golden Gate Ferry resumed direct weekday service between Tiburon and San Francisco and added weekday commute trips in December 2021 after running limited service for much of the pandemic. The new schedules give both commuters and tourists more options and flexibility for travel between San Francisco and the North Bay
