Doug Spurling, a cartographic technician working in civil engineering and surveying, will use current digital tools to look at historic documents like maps and photographic images.

Using these, we’ll zoom through time and space to see how certain well-known San Francisco locations such as Civic Center have changed and evolved through time. And we’ll compare those past times directly to the current-day environment in the same spot.
