Elixir, one of the oldest bars in San Francisco is hosting a free “King of Vodka” night as part of their Cocktail Club Series. Journalist Linda Himelstein will talk about the history of Mr. Pyotr Smirnov (yes, an actual person) who changed the vodka business forever.
After the talk, Elixir’s H. Joseph Ehrmann and 42 Below Brand Ambassador Borys Saciuk will conduct a tasting of 4 different vodkas and a brief seminar on how vodka is made and used in cocktails.
Drink specials featuring 42 Below Vodka and Square One Organic Vodka available at the bar.

About “The King of Vodka”: Acclaimed journalist Linda Himelstein delivers a compelling story about the 19th Century entrepreneur who changed the vodka business forever. Linda will discuss Smirnov’s story, how she came to discover it and the trials and tribulations of the intensive research she did to bring light to the truth behind the marketing.
