Event Details

Join Lawrence Hall of Science in the early morning to look through telescopes and see if we can witness Comet ISON, and see sunrise from the Hall from 4:30–6:30 am on Saturday, November 9, 2013.

Comets are a beautiful sight to see in the sky, and are also notoriously unpredictable. This means that astronomers can’t predict how well you’ll be able to see them on a given night, but you can still learn about them. Will you see Comet ISON with your own eyes? Will it brighten to become the “comet of the century”?

Come make your own comet models and learn about these flying balls of ice and snow in the Planetarium.

In case of poor weather or a spectacular display, another observation session may be held on a future date. Indoor activities on November 9 will run regardless of weather conditions.
