Event Details

SF’s “Conservatory of Flowers” Free First Tuesdays (Golden Gate Park)

Whether you’re a native San Franciscan, a visitor from the other side of the world, or a budding botanist, the Conservatory of Flowers located in Golden Gate Park, offers an intimate, up-close experience with nearly 2,000 species of rare, exotic and endangered plants from more than 50 different countries.

Opened in 1879, the wood and glass greenhouse is the oldest existing conservatory of its kind in the Western Hemisphere.

Conservatory of Flowers / Free Admission Day
First Tuesday of Every Month*

Admission is normally $7 for SF residents ($10-12 for everyone else), but it’s free to all visitors on the first Tuesday of every month.

As of April 2021 there is no way to reserve tickets in advance for free day, we are told by the Conservatory of Flowers you should “just show up.”

* Like everything else in the world, details can change. Visit conservatoryofflowers.org/visit-us/ for the latest updates. The Conservatory is also closed on New Years’ Day.

The Conservatory will also continue offering free or reduced admission through Museums for All, a program to bring free or reduced admission to San Francisco residents who receive public benefits, including Medi-Cal and CalFresh.

Tuesday-Sunday – 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
(Last ticket sold at 4:00 p.m.)

Please note that as of April 2021 the Conservatory no longer extends their hours during the summer, though please check their website for updates as this could change at anytime
