Freespace is a pop-up community center focused on hacking the civic experience. It is hosted in a 14,000 sqft warehouse in S0Ma, San Francisco, envisioned and implemented entirely by you.

Freespace was originally just a one month project, but it was extended to two months thanks to successful Indiegogo campaign. They’re now open periodically (check their schedule). They host a wide array of events and projects like classes, music, art, silent discos, yoga, a free bikeshare, community engagement and field trips, and more than a few silly costumes.

Conspiracy of Beards | Freespace Pop-Up Community Center

As the Conspiracy of Beards’ 10th anniversary season comes to a close, the men of the 30-piece Leonard Cohen a cappella group have one last performance before taking the summer off, and this one is completely free and is going to be unique.

The evening will start at 7 pm with a screening of the Conspiracy of Beards’s 2011/2012 season documentary DVD, A Midnight Choir, followed by a guest performance by a very unique musical group. Then the Beards will attempt to perform some very experimental arrangements as well as many of the standards. Expect the unexpected.
