Event Details

Join CreatingAS1, the art team of Sara Corbett and Aaron Haldiman, for a discussion of their regenerative art residency at KALW Public Media

Celebrate community, creativity, and civic imagination at the artist reception for Pollinating the Possible, a collaboration between KALW Public Media and CreatingAS1.

Throughout this three-month residency, CreatingAS1 is transforming KALW’s public gathering space into a living gallery—an invitation to pause, reflect, and engage with artwork that explores connection, renewal, and possibility. The installation is designed to nourish curiosity and spark reflection. As you move through the space, we invite you to slow down, look closely, and notice what emerges.

As social weavers, CreatingAS1 approaches this collaboration with curiosity about what becomes possible when people, ideas, and disciplines intersect. Together, KALW and CreatingAS1 invite you into a process of discovery, connection, and collective imagination.

CreatingAS1 is a San Francisco-based design, art, fabrication, and social cultivation firm co-founded by Sara Corbett and Aaron Haldiman. Dedicated to creating regenerative culture, we contribute public art, civic placemaking, interior decor, and community-building. The process as well as the product of our practice aspires to nurture synergistic relationships.

Humanity is capable of cultivating vibrant ecosystems which generate mutual abundance, resilience through interdependence, and expansive diversity. Human consciousness and capability can foster a loving, healthy, thriving world from personal to planetary scale. It’s vital to touch people emotionally and open their imaginations so that a powerfully inspiring future can be envisioned. If this possibility can be pictured and felt viscerally,  it will motivate us to behave and take action resonant with that vision. As these dreams materialize, the future feels present now and expands what we see is possible. This contributes to a positive upward spiral of regeneration.

Our philosophy is embedded in our name. We are creating —  ideas, actions, and experiences. The two of us together, along with the individuals and organizations who collaborate with us, are creating as One. And this process creates us. We are constantly learning and evolving in order to realize our visions. This work is transformative, impacting the external world and ourselves in the process. We are CreatingAS1.

There is a $10 – $20 sliding scale suggested donation for this event. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.
