Event Details

Reset your system with our modern spin on a 600-year-old Rosh Hashanah ritual called tashlich. This custom of ridding ourselves of all our bad vuggum (karma) from the previous year and getting a fresh start for the new one is traditionally enacted by tossing crumbs into the ocean.

Join us on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 5:00 p.m. PT by the shore at Ocean Beach for a brief, engaging ritual. Bring a shofar, if you have one, to blow along with some of San Francisco’s finest players from the Jazz Mafia, the Irish Pipers Band, Church of John Coltrane and guitarist and vocalist Luther Dickinson of the Grammy-nominated North Mississippi Allstars.

*This year we will provide birdseed instead of bread to be better stewards of our wildlife and environment.

Tashlique is presented by Reboot with the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco
Ocean Beach (between Fulton Street and Lincoln Way)

Per the CDC guidelines, all attendees will be required to wear masks regardless of vaccination status.

The event is free but please RSVP here.
