Videodrome (1989)

Smash in your CRT for fear of Cronenberg’s hardcore new flesh vision: Videodrome. Meet Max Renn, a shock-TV station magnate whose lust for cutting edge sadism demolishes reality. Right-wing conspiracies, satellites and sci-fi horror/gore collide in this prophetic thriller-satire. Influenced by the ideas of Marshall McLuhan, Videodrome becomes one long media hallucination— textured so viscerally, it hurts to watch. Long Live the New Flesh! Featuring James Woods, Debbie Harry, Not Professor Mcluhan, and the VHS or Beta wars. (1989)

Please note, the October Cyberpunk Cinema Night was moved to October 6, 2014. It will revert back to the 2nd Monday of the month in November.
