The Shire of Cloondara (the San Francisco branch of the Society for Creative Anachronisms, who re-create the customs, combat, and courtesies of the Middle Ages) throws “DeBARDchery,” their annual archery and bardic tournament.

Watch people dressed in middle ages garb match their mirth, merriment, and archery skills (including using novelty targets).

2019 Debardchery
Saturday, July 20, 2019 | 10 am to 4 pm
Golden Gate Park Archery Fields, 904 47th Ave, San Francisco
FREE to watch – participating is restricted to active members of the Shire of Cloondara.

Adult Event Registration: $15 Adult Member Discount Event Registration: $10. Please bring cash if you are able to.

Match your skills against the Kingdom’s finest archers in the novelty shoot and Royal Round. Join the fun in the traditional crazy Cloondaran games: Loaf Lob, Caber Toss, Fish Fling, and the deadly Flying Phoenix of Fate. Compete to be this year’s Bard of Cloondara.

Bring a dish to share; please contribute a dish based on your name: A-J: side/salad; K-R: dessert; S-Z: main dish. The hungry archers will appreciate it.

Please note, last year due to permit restrictions, this event was open only to members of the Shire of Cloondara and their guests. We expect the same for 2019. If you are interested in joining the group, then you might receive an invitation to this and other similar events.
