Come work it out with us, in the streets, this Valentine’s Day. The world is a screwed-up place full of things that make us feel screwed-up, but we’re going to fix it, if only for one night.
Dance through the streets, working it out in public, and joining passers-by in moments of unexpected catharsis. So put on your leotard and leg warmers, put batteries in your boombox, and join to show San Francisco and the world how SFDDP Works It Out.
The theme for this party is “SFDDP Works It Out“, and they’re going to dress the part. Work out your body, work out your issues, work it all out. Put on your best neon workout gear, bust out your Ab-Roller and your Shakeweight, and come party.
What is a Decentralized Dance Party (DDP)?
Hundreds of party people carry boomboxes and the DJ (Admiral Fiesta) wears a backpack, containing an FM radio transmitter. All the boomboxes are tuned into the DJ’s master FM broadcast, resulting in a mobile, synchronized sound system.
In the past, people have built sound systems in shopping carts and baby carriages, constructed insane backpack-borne laser light shows, crowd-surfed each other up escalators, worn elaborate costumes, and performed epic dance routines for everyone to enjoy. Take the theme as inspiration and make it your own in the most heartfelt and spectacular way possible.
Bring a boombox that can tune in to FM radio (the stream is not accessible via mobile phone), dancing shoes, exercise equipment, giant props, good vibes. Everyone of all ages and styles are welcome.
