“Defrost” Immersive Virtual Experience on Gather

Meet Hapless. They are stuck in a prison they feel safe in, yet never quite happy. And whenever they try to leave, their prison only grows bigger.

But today, there’s something new. They are not alone. You are here, and a magical journey to find the Recipe for Tomorrow begins.

Sign into this event and navigate your avatar through the digital world that is Defrost. Together with Hapless, you and your fellow participants will explore the labyrinth and collect clues to help them on their journey of self-discovery.

Defrost is an intimate, sometimes humorous immersive experience with escape room elements for up to 7 participants. This approximately 30-minute, highly interactive journey across a magical pixel art universe explores themes of loneliness and isolation and creates space for self-reflection.

This experience is hosted on Gather, a virtual platform where participants use an avatar to navigate a digital map. As users get close to other participants on the platform, they are automatically connected via video chat. To participate on Gather, you need a laptop or desktop computer with either Chrome or Firefox browsers. You will not be able to experience the show on mobile devices. Headphones are highly recommended for a smooth experience.

Ticket sales close 3 hours prior to the event; access details will be sent out 2 hours prior to the start time. Please log in 5-10 minutes before your show-time to check-in at the ‘box office’ and troubleshoot any technical issues. Late admission to the performance will not be available.
