Meet a digital “pen pal” at the kick-off of the San Francisco Portal at Proxy SF in Hayes Valley. Through this Portal you’ll be able to connect with people in Iran, Afghanistan, and Cuba through an amazing live video experience and have conversations in real time.
The City of Trees Brass Band will be on hand to play some tunes. You’ll hear remarks and Q&A with founder Amar Bakshi at 7 pm and they will go live with Afghanistan at 7:30 pm.
The event is free, but a suggested donation is $10 to experience the Portal. First people to donate can get a Smitten Ice Cream cone or a Biergarten Beer.
