Dirty Old Women Reading: Literary Erotica Salon | Oakland

Older women: Wise enough to tell the truth about sex – what they want, what they’ve done, what makes them hot. Dirty Old Women, a monthly series at Octopus, celebrates erotic writing by self-identified older women of all orientations.

Open mic starts at 7:30 pm and is open to all; featured readings begin at 8 pm. Dirty Old Women takes place quarterly at Octopus Literary Salon, 2101 Webster at 21st St, Oakland.

Starting in 2018 this event is now quarterly instead of monthly. Check the calendar for updates.

Tuesday, March 27 features Chris Kammler and Frances Spector.

  • Chris Kammler is a writer, director and performance artist. She has toured Europe and performed throughout the Bay Area. She recently returned from China, where she studied esoteric healing ju ju. Her work spans poetry, fiction and drama.
  • Frances Spector is a healer, hula dancer, musician and adventurer who now is exploring her own gender. She’ll read accounts of sexy exploits real and imagined.

The evening is hosted by Chris Orr, a founding member of the Elderotica Writing Workshop and a frequent open mic participant.

Open mic starts at 7:30 and is open to all; featured readings begin at 8 pm at Octopus Literary Salon. This event is free, inclusive and accessible.
