Get into the giving spirit; help warm the homeless by bringing a blanket to Dolores Park (on the corner of 18th at Dolores) from 4-7 pm on Friday, February 8, 2013.
Gather your clean, gently used or new blankets and sleeping bags and they will be distributed to the homeless citizens of San Francisco.
In 2011, we collected distributed 150 blankets in a little less than two hours in the SOMA and Tenderloin districts of SF. In 2012, we decided to hand out “Bare Necessities,” 1-gallon size bags packed with fruit, nutrition bars, toiletries, socks, gloves, hats, and water.
All donations will be distributed to the homeless on February 15, 2013, in the SOMA and Tenderloin districts of San Francisco. Any donated items remaining after the distribution will be made available to the agencies who work with the homeless throughout the year.
