Host Baruch Porras-Hernandez brings his dynamic cabaret full of queer Latinx performers celebrate community, identity, and experiences through poetry, comedy and music for another magical evening at this year’s Lit Crawl in the Mission!

Performers

Baruch Porras Hernandez is the author of “I Miss You, Delicate” and “Lovers of the Deep Fried Circle” from Sibling Rivalry Press, and has been published in several journals and anthologies, like Split This Rock, The Racket, The Tusk, Bold Italic, and Write Bloody. He has received fellowships and taken part of residencies from Banff Center for the Arts, Berkeley Rep, Carolyne Moore Writers House, and the Lambda Literary Foundation. He’s performed all over North America and is a regular host of literary shows for KQED.

SNJV is a writer and an artist using dance, drag, and drama to showcase humanity. Infusing culture into dance and fashion, SNJV creates performances for stage and film. SNJV holds the title of Mr. GAPA and is the first South-Asian title holder in GAPA’s history. He is also an educator who lectures about his research on drag, dance, and identity in university and corporate spaces.

Ashley Monique is a San Francisco-based comedian who delivers wry and sometimes dark humor with a disarming, earnest energy. She has opened for Melissa Villaseñor, Zoltan Kaszas, and Nimesh Patel. You can find where Ashley will be performing next on Instagram @trashleymonique.

Dizzy Jenkins is a singer/songwriter, bomba drummer, and heavy metal vocalist hailing from New York City now calling the Bay Area their home. They have released two solo hip hop albums, City Baby and Algorithm & Blues, and their recent release, Skeleton Key, showcases their soulful, acoustic take on country, blues and folk featuring their signature vocals and heartfelt lyrics. Dizzy is not only a musician – they are a mother, a surfer and a visual artist. Dizzy is currently working on a new album with their metal band, Diablura, which is expected to release early 2024.
