Event Details

Rock music historian and author Richie Unterberger will show and discuss footage of Central and South American rock acts from the 1960s and early 1970s.
Although these groups did not have international hits, these regions were
home to many artists who put their own stamp on rock as it became a global phenomenon. Some of the featured acts include Os Mutantes and Gilberto Gil from Brazil; Los Shakers and Los Mockers, the Beatles and Rolling Stones
respectively of Uruguay; and groups that did Spanish versions of US and
British hits, like Los Locos Del Les Ritmo from Mexico.
