Stinson Beach Cleanup & Create with Nature

Time: 10am – Noon
Time: 11am – 1pm
Come lend a hand at one of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area’s most beautiful beaches – Stinson Beach! Help us protect endangered species and marine animals from the dangers of human-made trash, as well as keep our beach looking nice and safe for everyone who visits! Stick around and join collaborating artists in sculpture-making with natural materials, making music, dancing, and more.

Ocean Beach Cleanups – Two sites!

Location: Stairwell #17, across from the Beach Chalet
Time: 9am-11am
Location: Great Highway at Taraval Street
Time: 1-3pm
Make a difference while enjoying a day at the beach. Ocean Beach is a beautiful three mile stretch of coastline popular with local residents and visitors alike for a range of recreational activities. Unfortunately, with its popularity, there is a lot of human-made debris left behind which is harmful to wildlife and our community. Help us lead by example, steward our coastline, and keep our beaches beautiful, clean, and safe for all of us to enjoy.

Landscaping and Maintenance at Crissy Field
Time: 9am – Noon
Did you know that Crissy Field used to be a marsh? How about a race track or airfield? Today, it’s a park site that stretches along the Golden Gate welcoming thousands of visitors, is teeming with wildlife, and offers meadows that nod to its unique past. Join NPS staff on Earth Day to learn about the history of this area while maintaining pathways and natural areas in preparation for bird nesting season. Activities will include trimming back vegetation and weeding near the lagoon.

Muir Woods Earth Day – Sunday, April 24th
Join us at Muir Woods in celebration of Earth Day! Volunteers will support a variety of projects including habitat restoration and boardwalk care.
