Celebrate Earth Day at the Peralta Hacienda Historical Park in Oakland’s Fruitvale district on Saturday, April 18, 2020.

At 10 am, come by to lend a hand picking up trash, pulling weeds, painting out graffiti, and making the park a safer, more beautiful place. Refreshments are served.

Join thousands of volunteers to clean and beautify Oakland’s creeks, streets, and parks. Volunteers will pick up litter, remove invasive plants, and/or plant California native plants. Please wear long pants and sturdy closed-toed shoes.

In 2014 2,400 volunteers pitched in more than 7,600 hours at ninety sites across Oakland. Volunteers removed more than 1,000 trash bags and more than 2,800 bags of weeds and green waste. In total over 575 cubic yards of trash and green waste was collected, enough to fill about 3,400 garbage cans.
