Event Details

It’s fire season y’all! The new normal of our long fire season holds many feelings and challenges. It is also an opportunity to understand more deeply what it means to live in a fire ecology and how we can align ourselves with fire and its ecological benefits. Jonathan Kabat of Hotlum Ecosystem Restoration Camp in Siskiyou County will join us to lead a discussion on this topic. Jonathan is an Eco-psychologist, Bio-char maker, land restoration leader and more. Bring your curiosity, questions and feelings. Fire has affected many of us in big ways the last many years. Also remedies and recipes for physical and mental support during fire season are welcomed too.
We meet at the PLACE for Sustainable Living, our local sustainable community center for education and activism, 1121 64th st oak-land. Please come through the front entrance and make your way to the community room in the center of the property.
WHAT TO BRING: Food to share for our potluck and optional donation to PLACE for the meeting space.
WHO: All our welcome. We meet in a room where there is plenty of space for kiddos to spread out and hang nearby. Our meeting space has 5 steps up for entry.
