Wanting to create a kid-friendly and safe halloween experience, Bethel Christian Church is holding its Harvest Festival between 4:30 and 7:30pm at 1325 Valencia Street. Rain is no problem because the proceedings take place in their covered garage. And it is free
For children that can’t live without sweets, there is candy and treats galore. However, instead of drive-by trick-or-treats, there are also apples, carmel, hot chocolate and cookie decorating. They even have popcorn and cotton candy machines that will deliver fresh treats.
There is also fun things for them to do. For example, there are two jumpy houses (one for the older kids; the other for the small ones), face painting, juggling, a magic show, arts and crafts, juggling, and balloon animals.
The garage is tastefully decorated with apple trees and other fall trees designed to appeal to all. Of notable interest is that all these decorations are made from 100% recyclable paper and cardboard, so even the ecologically sensitive will be happy with the result.
