Event Details

Formerly of New Orleans, El Radio Fantastique plays a free show of wistful, old-timey but pretty tunes at The Revolution Cafe in the Mission. Bandleader Giovanni DiMorente is a classic crooner, echoing antique radio play with the swagger of a Glam Rocker. He’s accompanied by an upright bass, a trumpet, a violin, a clarinet and percussion.

With a slide guitar made out of a coal shovel and a seat belt, opening act Shovelman plays a solo folktronic show reminiscent of Morphine (when accompanied by a sax) while his lone wolf voice aims for the Tom Waits comparisons. Either way, it’s a classy show from a skilled musician.

  • Shovelman plays at 8:30 p.m.
  • El Radio Fantastique takes the stage at 9:30 p.m.
