Ethnic Studies for Adults: An Introduction (Free Online Class)

Are you fired up about the current administration and state of the American government? Want to learn more about the history of our country and how we ended up here? Enroll in Madeline Alvendia Johnson’s free four week class, Ethnic Studies for Adults: An Introduction.

Held on Sundays at 2 pm PST, this one hour live Zoom class will explore introductory topics in Ethnic Studies.

Class 1 will cover the history of Ethnic Studies and the concepts of race, racism, white supremacy, and more.

Classes 2-4 will cover significant events in the history of people of color in the United States such as the Black Panthers, the Native American occupation of Alcatraz Island, Dolores Huerta and the Filipino farmworker movement, and Japanese internment.

This is intended as an introduction to these topics and is not a complete overview.

Future classes that dive deeper into Ethnic Studies will also be offered.
