America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta | 2013
On off days when New Zealand and Team Oracle aren’t competing, watch Superyachts compete in a more traditional boat race, one that doesn’t involve catamarans or foiling.
The America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta has become a staple companion event of the America’s Cup since the first one in New Zealand in 2000. This year, the America’s Cup will host a fleet of superyachts ranging in size from 85 feet to 300 feet. Many will be berthed along the eastern seawall of the America’s Cup Park at Piers 27/29.
The race committee hopes to set courses on San Francisco Bay, but the deep draft of some of the yachts may require a course that stretches out the Bay under the Golden Gate Bridge.
>> Updated Viewing Location: We’re told the best viewing is therefore likely to be from America’s Cup Park (Pier 27/29). Be sure to check americascupsuperyachtregatta.com for updates.
