Angel Island Civil War Days
June 22-23, 2019 | 10 am to 3 pm
Once again, Confederates invade and try to take over Camp Reynolds on Angel Island. This year, the battles for control of San Francisco Bay will be taking place on June 22nd and 23rd.
Explore the 1863 Union Army post at Camp Reynolds, a real Civil War era army camp, become recruits to the Union Army, and try your hand at baking army bread and learning other soldierly skills.
There will be exciting mock battles between Union and Confederate forces each day by historic reenactors and park volunteers on the parade ground.
Generally, battle times are 12:30 and 2 pm on Saturday and 12:30 on Sunday. The Barracks in the Quartermaster Building, as well as Quarters 10 at the top of the hill, are open all day.
On Saturday and Sunday, the ferry departs hourly from 10 am to 5 pm. It also departs the island hourly, at 20 minutes after the hour, from 10:20 am to 5:20 pm.
The event is free to attend, but the cost of ferry to Angel Island varies according to where you take off from.
