Classical Music on the Square | Redwood City
For the classical music lover, or anyone who appreciates great musical talent, Redwood City continues its free Classical Music Series performed outdoors on beautiful Courthouse Square from June through September 2019.
The series features groups such as the Redwood Symphony, Opera San José, and Bay Shore Lyric Opera.
Saturday, June 22, 2019 – 7 pm
Eric K conducts 60 members of Redwood Symphony in a thrilling concert of popular classics, this year featuring Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8 and John Williams’ Devil’s Dance. This concert is a great introduction to the symphony orchestra for kids, and a great way to enjoy some wine and nice weather.
Opera San Jose
Sunday, July 21, 2019- 6 pm
Opera San José is a professional, regional opera company that is unique in the United States. Maintaining a resident company of principal artists, Opera San José specializes in showcasing the finest young professional singers in the nation. Due to the resident nature of the company, modeled after the German regional opera company, these artists build substantial professional repertoire, are coached by resident and guest conductors and stage directors, and are prepared to meet the demands of a successful operatic career.
Bayshore Lyric Opera

This year BSLO will bring a big production to Redwood City called FALSTAFF by Verdi. This great opera will be performed in English and is very funny.
BSLO’s mission is to carry on the wonderful tradition of grand opera by presenting fully staged professional opera productions of the highest artistic quality by the community and for the community. BSLO Provides opportunities for talented performers and stage crew from the community to participate in professional productions that further their artistic careers while enriching the community they reside in.
