Drive-In Movies at the San Mateo County Fair

Thanks to the SFGate for letting us know that another drive-in movie theater is popping up at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds.

>Drive-In Movies at the San Mateo County Fair starts on June 19th. The empty parking lot will be converted into a drive-in movie theater starting this Friday.  Purchase of one Drive-In Movie Ticket includes one 2021 General Admission Fair Ticket. 2021 General Admission Fair ticket will be emailed separately.

2020 Summer Movie Line- up:

  • Friday, June 19, DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story
  • Saturday, June 20, Napoleon Dynamite
  • Sunday, June 26, Independence Day

Concessions:
Funnel cakes, cotton candy, corn dogs, deep fried oreos and beverages.

Located in West Lot off of 2495 S. Delaware Street. Open:12pm – 8pm.
Beverages including cocktails open: 5pm – 8pm

Gates Open at 7:30 pm and Movies start at 9:00 pm. $35/per vehicle – One Drive-In Movie Ticket per one vehicle. Fit as many people as your vehicle legally allows. Tickets limited to 200 cars per show.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the San Mateo Strong fund, which provides emergency aid to small businesses, families, and individuals impacted by the economic shutdown.

Love Drive-in Movies? The only permanent Drive-ins in the Bay are West Wind Drive-In theaters in Concord and San Jose which operate 7-days a week for $8.25 a film (including for double features) and have $5.50 tickets on Tuesdays.  There is another pop-up one at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. There is also the free “Renegade Drive-In” in Novato which runs on Saturday nights and starts back up again on June 6th.
