Muttville’s Rescue Dog “Yappy Hour” at Jaranita (SF)

Jaranita’s ongoing weekly Yappy Hour will be introducing a three-part monthly special event series with their partner Muttville, a senior dog rescue center based in San Francisco. Most recently, Jaranita began a Yappy Hour that takes place every Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, which donates $1 for every cocktail purchased to Muttville, a monthly giveaway for $100 to Miska Dog Boutique for unique, handcrafted treats, and complimentary dog biscuits and water bowls are provided.

For three special dates in November, December, and January, a few mutts from the rescue center will join us on the festive parklet to visit with passerby and socialize with restaurant guests (note: they will be in a dog pen).

Please see the dates below:
Tuesday, November 16
Tuesday, December 14
Tuesday, January 18

However, you don’t need to own a pup to play at Yappy Hour! Say “hi!” to the Muttville doggies while sipping one of Jaranita’s signature cocktails like the Jaranita Rita; Nikkei Sour; or Zen-Gria. Happy hour bites include Cebiche Clasico; Coliflor: roasted cauliflower, black mint sauce, roasted peanuts, queso fresco; and Empanadas. These mutts just might make you want to take home one of your own! No reservations required.

About Muttville: Muttville’s cage-free facility (first in the nation), foster program, on-site veterinary suite, and hospice program are innovations that have been lauded and emulated around the country. Muttville has received the highest ratings from both Guidestar and Charity Navigator, the leading nonprofit watchdog organizations. We reach out to senior and special needs rescue dogs; find homes for those dogs that are adoptable, and offer end-of-life care for those that are not. 9,304 dogs rescued have been rescued to date.

About Jaranita: Opened at the end of January in the heart of San Francisco’s bustling Marina District, Jaranita highlights the authentic flavors of Peru and the variety of ethnic cultures that have influenced the cuisine and feature a custom-built charcoal grill. It is a new concept from the award-winning La Mar Cebicheria Peruana culinary team of the Acurio International Restaurant Group that owns and operates over 50 restaurants across the world. “Jarana” translates to a spontaneous colorful street celebration in Peru. The restaurant features traditional, authentic dishes showcasing free-range, pasture-raised chickens rubbed with Peruvian spices and slow-roasted cooked meats over charcoal on the rotisserie while highlighting the classic dishes that have put Peruvian cuisine on the world map. The menu also offers a variety of organic vegan and vegetarian dishes. Patrons will find colorful and creative murals throughout the restaurant by up-and-coming local artist, Bernadine Preetha Saint-Auguste, and an expansive dining area complete with a live tree growing underneath a large skylight, open-fire kitchen, bar seating as well as a new parklet. Jaranita to-go, delivery is available, and indoor and outdoor dining. For more information, please visit www.jaranitasf.com.
