PIER 39’s “The Festival of Lights” Hanukkah Celebration (2024-25)

EVENT UPDATE: There are no upcoming events known for this event series - please check the organizer website for any updates.

The Holidays are HapPIER at PIER 39! Get into the spirit of the Season at PIER 39 while shopping, dining and strolling The PIER.

Join PIER 39 and celebrate The Festival of Lights as we light our menorah in the PIER 39 Entrance Plaza at sundown on December 25th, the first night of Hanukkah. Each of the nine branches will be illuminated over the course of the eight days observed by Hanukkah.

Celebrate Hanukkah at Pier 39 starting at sundown, through January 2, 2025.

The copper sculpted menorah, made by artist Jeff Brees, stands nearly 9′ tall, has insets of colored glass and nine lights that symbolize the traditional flames. It is a unique sculpture that fits naturally with the outdoor ambiance of PIER 39. “It’s a piece that blends tradition with a more modern, organic style,” said Brees. “The overall effect was intended to preserve the flames found in the origin of the Holiday and marry it to the sense of beauty and wonder found during the Holiday season.”
