Suspended Aerial Dance Between Buildings “Needles to Thread” | Tenderloin

Choreographer and aerial site-artist Jo Kreiter presents an off the ground dance production suspended between buildings in a Tenderloin alley.

Needles to Thread: Dancing Along These Lines in Continuum Alley is the third in a trilogy of site-specific aerial dances about urban poverty, Needles to Thread takes on the issue of wage security for women through the story of San Francisco’s garment workers past and present.

Tenderloin Labor Landmark Walking Tour
Saturdays, October 3 and 10, 2015 | 7 pm

On Saturdays only, come early for a pre-show 45 minute guided walking tour of local labor landmarks at 7 pm.

Learn about a citywide strike led by women workers in 1974; turn-of-the-century organizing by waiters, dishwashers and cooks; a nationally recognized school for workers that taught dance, painting and music in addition to classes on how to run a union meeting; lost labor murals and other hidden history.
