Trees in Fir Coats: An Evergreen Tour | San Jose

Shake off your winter blues with Our City Forest’s knowledgeable guides on an Evergreen Tree Tour.

Free, but an RSVP is required to treetours@ourcityforest.org or call (408) 998-7337 x 108.

You’ll grab a free warm cuppa (while supplies last), then go for a relaxing ramble around the San Jose State University main campus. As they go, they’ll share fascinating facts about selected evergreen trees from familiar Bay Area favorites to weird and wonderful rarities–and more.

The tour is free, but donations ($5 suggested) are greatly appreciated.

When? Every Saturday from January 11 to February 8, 2014. The tour starts at 2 pm and will last 75-90 minutes.

Where? Meet at 9th Street Plaza on the SJSU main campus, near the Art Building.

How? There is limited free parking along 10th Street. Campus is easily accessible by VTA public transit (bus routes 63, 64, 72, 73, and 81; light rail lines 901 and 902).

What else? Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. All ages are welcome.
