April 2012 Dance Salon Participants

Mary Armentrout Dance Theater
Reveries and elegies is a collection of solos in extreme landscapes attempting to embody the sense of dislocation humans can create for themselves. Armentrout will be showing an excerpt during 2nd Sundays.

Project Tremolo
Nowhere Space, excavates the empty spaces of transition. Dancers find themselves in a world without ground, without dimension or distinction, and seek to overcome this external uncertainty through connection to the body.. This will feature a series of intertwining duets and solos as the dancers begin to construct a new landscape for themselves, based in the complexity of relationship.

Rebecca Gilbert/Barely Complete Dance Group
An exploration into the dividing lines of one’s physical body and that which lies within. The shell of the body functions and moves us through life sometimes leaving behind what drives us in the first place; the soul, the person, the divine pieces. The journey to rejoin these two facets are what inspire and create the piece by Rebecca Gilbert titled Dig.
