What is 22 feet high, 23 feet wide and full of thousands of bricks, a ton of royal icing and candy décor? It’s the Fairmont’s famed and much beloved two-story-high Victorian Gingerbread House which will be back this year in our lobby.
Debuting Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Gingerbread House will be on display throughout the entire holiday season.
Fairmont engineering and culinary teams begin planning the gingerbread house in July, which is also when crews begin baking 12- by 4-inch gingerbread bricks to cover the home’s wooden frame.
The Gingerbread house typically takes 1,000 pounds of powdered sugar, 150 gallons of egg whites, 1,900 pounds of candy for decor, 500+ hours to build and is made of more than 8,000 gingerbread bricks – Learn more how the gingerbread house is built.
