Event Details

Enjoy a FREE day of discovery and learning out in nature with the family. WildCare naturalists will lead fun family outings with the objective of deepening our commitment to taking care of the planet. These programs are in English and Spanish, and are free to the public. WildCare strongly encourages carpooling. For more information or to reserve space on our free shuttle service from the Canal area of San Rafael, contact Marco Berger by calling (415) 453-1000 x17 or email marco@wildcarebayarea.org.

Explore The Marine Mammal Center on a guided tour of their facility in the Marin Headlands. Learn how they care for the patients at their hospital, experience simulated rescue and rehabilitation demonstrations, and find out how we can all help to protect our oceans. After the tour, join us for a short walk down to beautiful Rodeo Beach to spot seabirds and porpoises while enjoying the sunshine and fresh ocean breeze.

DIRECTIONS: Take Highway 101 and exit at Alexander Avenue towards Sausalito. Make a left at the sign for Marin Headlands (on Dane Dr/Bunker Rd)—the only left turn you can make before heading down the hill to Sausalito. You should see a tunnel with a 5-minute wait light. Proceed through the tunnel and follow Bunker Road for approximately 3 miles. Pass the lagoon and turn right and head uphill at the fork in the road. Make your next right at The Marine Mammal Center sign.
