Event Details

Explore pesticide use and industry practice at a Farmers Market Tomato Panel & Tasting on Monday, August 15 in San Francisco’s Ferry Building.

Start off by listening to a conversation all about CSAs, the history of tomatoes, current industry practices and more with author Barry Estabrook (“Tomatoland”) and organic farmers Nigel Walker of Eatwell Farm and Larry Jacobs of the Del Cabo cooperative. The panel will then be followed by a reception filled with farmers’ market refreshments (including tomatoes, of course) and a book signing by Estabrook.

So RSVP to save yourself a spot and consider contributing a donation (which is on a sliding scale of $0 to $5), and prepare for some samples of sustainable tomatoes and other tasty farmers’ market treats.
