On most Saturdays, free cooking demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

Chef Greg Lutes comes from humble beginnings, hailing from a town of 350 people in a farming community two hours from Chicago. Staying informed but not being limited by roots and lineage, his food and dining experiences are elegant yet rustic, juxtaposing humble ingredients offering plates that are approachable, comforting and nurturing for mind, body and soul.

Greg started his restaurant career at Everest, working with Chef Jean Joho. He has worked in Seattle and New York City as well as Chicago, learning from such culinary luminaries as Daniel Boulud and Jason Wilson. Moving to San Francisco in 2006, Greg helmed the stoves of two waterfront restaurants, most recently Skates on the Bay, and the prior to that at The Waterfront in San Francisco where he focused his creativity on Pacific seafood. Until his permanent space opens for his new venture, 3rd Cousin, he will continue to run his pop-up restaurant in a secret location on the Bernal/Mission border.
