Freespace Pop-Up Community Center

Freespace is a pop-up community center focused on hacking the civic experience. It is hosted in a 14,000 sqft warehouse in S0Ma, San Francisco, envisioned and implemented entirely by you.

Freespace was originally just a one month project, but it was extended to two months thanks to successful Indiegogo campaign. They’re now open periodically (check their schedule). They host a wide array of events and projects like classes, music, art, silent discos, yoga, a free bikeshare, community engagement and field trips, and more than a few silly costumes.

Amelie | Freespace Pop-Up Community Center

Catch a free screening of Amèlie at the newly re-opened Freespace in SoMa on Tuesday, February 25, 2014.

Amèlie: (French with English subtitles)

An innocent and naive girl in Paris, with her own sense of justice, decides to help those around her and along the way, discovers love.

This will be the first of a series of film screenings organized through a new film club and each screening will have a topic. A discussion will follow the film.
