Final Day: Sea Lion 22nd Anniversary Walking Tours | Pier 39

Ever wanted to learn a little bit more about The City’s signature fin-footed mammals — the barking sea lion?

Become sea lion savvy as you discover facts about our California sea lions, marine life and bay conservation on the “Sea Lion Encounter,” a walk and talk tour in celebration of the 22nd anniversary of their arrival to PIER 39.

• Tours start on the hour from 11am – 4pm; last tour departs at 4pm.
• Tours last approximately 30 minutes
• Hosted by Aquarium of the Bay and The Marine Mammal Center Naturalists, the tours begin at the Sea Lion Statue near PIER 39’s Entrance Plaza

Walk & Talk with Sea Lion Experts
Thursday, January 19 to Sunday, January 22, 2012
11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

ACTIVITIES:

• Meet your guide at the Sea Lion Statue by PIER 39’s Entrance Plaza prior to each tour.
• At the conclusion of your 30-minute tour, join PIER 39’s own Salty the Sea Lion for complimentary cookies at Sea Lion Cafe with PIER 39’s sea lion mascot ‘Salty’.
• Tour participants will have a chance to win some prizes and also be treated to special discounts:
  50% off admission to Aquarium of the Bay
  50% off a Blue & Gold Fleet Bay Cruise
  10% off at The Marine Mammal Center
• (good to know: In case of inclement weather, sea lion educational talks will be held on the hour inside Sea Lion Cafe on Level 2. )
