Sadly, Hayes Valley Farm is closing, but they’ll be going out with a bang. Join them for a farewell celebration on Cinco de Mayo, May 5, 2013.
Join them for a family-friendly event commemorating the past 3.5 years of urban agriculture education, land stewardship, and youth programming. The farewell fiesta will be a celebration of building community and enriching the land and soil. Support them in branching out to a new network of urban farmers and edible gardens throughout San Francisco.
Hayes Valley Farm Farewell Activities | May 5, 2013
- Enjoy food crafting at the taco bar from 12-2 pm with tortillas made in the cob oven, farm fresh produce, beans, salsa, and virgin mojitos. Bring along your favorite taco toppings, picnic food, and a blanket, along with dishes and utensils. This is a zero waste event.Come early to get a free taco ticket before they run out.
- Explore, learn, and create with a sensory scavenger hunt, farm puppet photo booth, seed balls, workshops, face painting, worm and composting workshops, and other farm-inspired arts and crafts.
- They will be sharing soil, seeds, and plants. Some plants will be for sale, but the soil, seeds and some plants will be free.
- Groove to live music by Essence Goldman, Jordan Feinstein and Kasia Moon.
- Commemorate with scrumptious sweets and a ceremonial cake cutting at 2 pm to honor their past, present and future.
