CANCELED: First Friday Follies Burlesque | Oakland

As Oakland Art Murmur winds down on your Friday night, find your way to the Stork Club on 23rd and Telegraph around 9 pm for the perfectly strange after-party, The First Friday Follies burlesque show, a monthly free event featuring dancing girls, sometimes a creepy little puppet show from Shadow Circus Creature Theater and strange guest performances.

First Friday Follies
Every 1st Friday | 10 pm-ish
Stork Club, 24th & Telegraph, Oakland

$5 Cover

The Burlesque show begins at 10 am – with bands at 7, and DJ TacocaT at Midnight. There is a $5 cover for the event.

Please note, start times and performances may vary each month; there may not always be a puppet show.

On Friday, April 4, 2014 the Stork Club features:

  • The Butch Nasty and The Blackout Kids
Butch Nasty & the Blackout Kids is a 5-piece punk rock band based in Oakland, CA. Like the bastard child of the Germs and the Stones, both fast and slow songs present a furious energy driven by precision rhythms and searing guitar interplay. This noisy backdrop beautifully cradles the half-crazed, unholy ramblings of the last cowboy: Butch Nasty.
  • Mouth Between Your Teeth
  • Royal Skin
  • Burlesque
  • and MC Juicy Delight

The fun starts at 6 pm.
