Free 924 Gilman Movie Night “Taxi Driver” (1976) | Berkeley

A free movie night at 924 Gilman, showing the Martin Scorsese classic “Taxi Driver.” Robert DeNiro leads an all-star cast of Jodie Foster, Cybill Shepherd and Harvey Keitel in this 1976 movie about a Vietnam War vet who drives a taxi cab with a screw loose and a self-ordained mission to clean up the streets.

924 Gilman is a non-profit, all-ages, alcohol-free art and music space run by volunteers. Its rent has recently skyrocketed, putting the legendary venue in jeopardy. Any receipts and food or drink sales help keep it afloat. There’s usually a little store inside selling dirt cheap drinks and snacks ($0.75 sodas, $1 juices, $1.75 burritos, $0.75 candy bars, $1 Cliff Bars.)
