Now that the weather is getting nice, do you need a new book to read in the park on a sunny Sunday? How about 50 new books? Visit the Bay Area Free Book Exchange (open every Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm in El Cerrito) and take home up to 50 books for free.

Yes, all the books on all the shelves are available to the public free of charge. It is like an ever changing treasure hunt among thousands of books. As of March 14, 2010, they had given away 40,811 free books

Donations of Books Accepted: If you have books you don’t want, you can donate your used books. although donations are greatly appreciated, it is not a requirement to come and get free books.
