This event is a bit on the religious side, but it’s free, sounds like the music is beautiful and a you get a free veggie Indian meal on Christmas.

Every year for the past 20 years Badarikashrama has hosted a free Christmas Concert and Vegetarian Dinner open to the public. The event usually attracts from 200-300 people from all over the Bay Area.

  • Live Music: This year will be a concert by Srikanth Chary a well-known musician who will play the veena, a beautiful stringed instrument from South India. He will be accompanied by his son Hrishikesh Chary. They will be joined by N. Narayan on the mridangam,a Carnatic drum used in Classical concerts.
  • Free Dinner: Following the concert a sumptuous dinner will be served with many items of Indian cuisine, traditional items, and dishes from other countries. All are welcome to come and enjoy the fabulous music and dinner. Reservations recommended. Call 510-278-2444 or email: badarik@pacbell.net
