Get your beach bod on the beach at this Free community-led workout. Music, burpees, sprints in the sand, etc and all before you start your workday.
Come on out and sign up to the distribution list by texting “obsf” to 31996 to learn more about future workouts.
WHO: Any beginner to advanced athletes that want to exercise in a group on Ocean Beach
WHEN: Still figuring this out, hoping to get to three weekday mornings and one weekend day per week. Details will come out via text before each workout for now
WHERE: Pacheco and the sand (on the beach — just follow the music!) Meet on Ocean Beach at the end of Pacheco (take the stairs down to the sand from the intersection of Pacheco and Great Highway)
WHY: Duh. Ocean Beach NEEDS a daily (twice daily?) boot camp / November project / exercise meet-up. It’s too awesome a beach, in too awesome a place to not have this.
PRICING: Still setting this up, proof of concept phase will be free. Then something like Yoga-to-the-People model e.g. $10 suggested donation per session (discounts for regulars)
GENERAL WORKOUT FORMAT:
7-10min warm-up
10min dynamic stretching
30min “main set” with two options (endurance and speed)
10min cool down and static stretchingWHAT TO BRING:
Appropriate attire (layers are good.). It’s Ocean Beach after all…
Running shoes you don’t mind getting full of sand. Or sand / sand vball socks like these. (Barefoot is fine too, but the sand can be cold on brisk mornings)
You’ll get sandy so maybe a towel to de-sand
