Event Details

This powerful documentary follows the intertwined journeys of two Chinese American storytellers from different generations in Tennessee.

Join CHSA for a special screening of Bluff City Chinese, a documentary directed by Thandi Cai chronicling the overlooked history and living legacy of Chinese communities in Memphis, Tennessee. Through archival research, oral histories, and contemporary storytelling, the film explores migration, survival, and belonging in the U.S. South — expanding common narratives of Chinese American history beyond coastal Chinatowns.
