What is VegRun?
“VegRun” stands for Vegan/Vegetarian Run—a global movement that promotes vegetarianism and sustainability through community runs. VegRuns take place across five continents, bringing people together to support charitable causes and raise awareness about the environmental benefits of plant-based living.
Why Join VegRun?
By participating in VegRun, you’re not only supporting charitable efforts but also helping to:

- Reduce global warming

Hosted by the Buddha’s Light International Association San Francisco Chapter (BLIA San Francisco)

- Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Starting Point: Fo Guang Shan San Bao Temple, 38 Bryant St, San Francisco, CA
- Sign up before June 4
Event Highlights:
- Route: A group walk/jog from the temple to the Ferry Building, then to the Exploratorium, and back to the temple.
- Dress-up Theme: Come dressed as your favorite vegetable or fruit—or create a fun cutout costume! Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed individual or group.
- Creative Activity: After the run, we’ll create a Tree of Vows. Participants will:
- Make their own organic plant-based paint
- Stamp a handprint as a leaf on the tree
- Write a personal vow to support a vegetarian lifestyle
